Frequently Asked Questions to the Author

I asked friends to read my book and give me feedback. I have received inquiries from them, which I will also post here so that I can give maximum clarity to anyone who asked himself the same questions. If you do not find your question in the list below, feel free to email me and I will answer you.

"Is the book a fiction or does it reflect real events?"

 - The book is fiction, events, and people are collective elements and characters. Some events are similar to events that I have witnessed directly or indirectly. These events are modified in the interest of the plot and are present solely for the purpose of expressing feelings and giving the characters a real image.

"Are the characters in the book real people?"

 - No, the characters are fictional collective figures.

"Are you Millie, the main character?"

 - No, she is also a fictional character, but probably her character comes close to mine because I put my heart and soul into building her.

"Are the statistics you give correct?"

 - Yes, you can find the information on the internet.

"How did you decide to write about social issues?"

 - In the process of writing. Contrary to all expectations, I did not have a story prepared in advance. Each situation and event were created in the process of writing. Then I started to erase and make corrections. I did not set out to address the issues seen in the book.

"Who is Hugh and what role does he play?"

 - Hugh is our intuition, subconscious voice, clear conscience, guide, guardian angel. He is the secret savior in all of us.

 "Who are the saviors?"

- Anyone can be a savior. I very much want it to be so. There are difficult moments in everyone's life, and then God sends us someone to lend us a hand. These are the saviors. I dedicate my book to all of them because they are the main characters in life and they should be applauded.

"Some of the events are brutal and cruel, have you witnessed such atrocities?"

 - No, but I've watched movies with similar atrocities, even bigger ones.

"How did you get the idea of the Scar?"

 - After 3 days of thinking how I should finish the book. The scar is nothing new, it was a practice in ancient times.

"How long did it take you to write the book?"

 - 1 month and 1 day.

"What was most difficult for you?"

The description of places. I often used Google Maps, and despite the photos I had trouble imagining places I hadn't been in.

"Do you have any favorite moments in the book?"

 - Yes, a few. The scandal with Elsa, when Millie discovers "The Scar", the broadcast with the professor.

" What are you most afraid of?"

 - Some time ago I came across an article about authors who regretted having written their book. The stories were different, some had received great criticism from their readers, others had quarreled with all their family members, and others had given ideas through their books to criminals. This is the case with Stephen King, for example, in one of his books he describes school killings, and after his book, such attacks in US schools began. I don't remember exactly, but I think he was one of the authors who asked for his book to be put out of print and pulled out of the market, but the publishing house did not agree. This is my biggest fear. My book was a childhood dream and I do not wish to regret having realized it.

"What do you wish for your book?"

 - To touch people's hearts and become a bestseller, of course. :)
